Creative Content Intern
Content is how most people experience Beyond Tokyo before they ever travel with us.
As our Creative Content Intern, you'll work directly with the founders to create visual content for our website, Japan Journal and digital channels. This is not a social media management role. Your focus will be on creating and refining the videos, images and visual assets behind our content.
We're not interested in chasing trends or creating content simply for the algorithm. We believe great content earns trust through honesty, transparency, warmth and thoughtful storytelling.
You'll have meaningful ownership from day one, and the work you create will help shape how travellers around the world experience Beyond Tokyo.
What you'll work on
- Editing short-form videos and reels using footage from Japan
- Editing photographs and preparing them for digital use
- Creating graphics, thumbnails and promotional creatives
- Designing visual assets for our website and Japan Journal
- Organising and repurposing existing photos and video footage
- Researching visual references, formats and creative ideas
- Helping maintain a consistent Beyond Tokyo visual identity
You'll thrive in this role if you
- Have a strong eye for design, photography and visual storytelling
- Are comfortable editing short-form videos
- Have experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Figma or similar
- Notice small details and care about producing polished work
- Can follow creative direction and improve a draft thoughtfully
- Are curious, reliable and willing to learn
- Have an interest in Japan, travel or building thoughtful brands, although this is not essential
By the end of your internship, you'll have helped shape content seen by travellers around the world and contributed meaningfully to building one of the most thoughtful Japan travel brands.
